Indices table is hard going

The table is accurate but a reader without a physiology background will not get past the second column. Could the "what it approximates" entries be written in plainer terms? PlainNumbersPip (talk) 09:40, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Partly done — "basal secretory capacity" is about as plain as that concept gets without losing accuracy. I have left the technical tag on while we work on the surrounding prose. HOMA_Hettie (talk) 13:15, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Understood. The lead does most of the explanatory work, so a reader who reads in order will cope. Leaving the tag. PlainNumbersPip (talk) 08:30, 20 May 2026 (UTC)

The word "restores"Resolved

An IP edit added that agonist therapy "restores beta cell function". Reverted. The article should probably say why that phrasing is wrong, since it will keep coming back. PuffRemoverPax (talk) 11:20, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Added a closing paragraph distinguishing an improved index under continuing treatment from regeneration. That should give future reverts something to point at. ✓ Done BetaCellBoyd (talk) 14:47, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Resolved. This thread is closed. Reopening it is fine if new sources appear; please add a new subsection rather than editing the closed discussion.
