PeptidePedia Wiki is a static reference work. There is no advertising network on the site, no analytics product, no social embed, no session cookie and no account system. This page describes the consequences of that in detail, because "we take your privacy seriously" is not information.

Server request logs. The web server records the request path, the timestamp, the HTTP status, the user agent and a truncated form of the requesting IP address. Truncation removes the final octet of an IPv4 address and the final 80 bits of an IPv6 address before the record is written. Logs are retained for 14 days and are used only to diagnose faults and to identify abusive automated traffic.

Nothing else. No cookies are set by the site itself. No local storage is written except by the interactive calculators described below, and that is confined to the reader's own browser.

• No account, email address, password or profile.
• No advertising or cross-site identifier.
• No behavioural profile, no session recording, no heatmap.
• No fingerprinting, and no attempt to identify a returning reader.
• No data about what a reader searched for. Site search is executed entirely in the reader's browser against a pre-built index; the query is never transmitted anywhere.

The calculator articles run entirely in the browser. Values entered into them are not transmitted to any server. If a tool remembers a preference between visits it does so in the browser's own local storage, which the reader can clear at any time from their browser settings. Clearing it loses nothing but the preference.

Two third parties receive a request when a page loads:

• a web font service, which serves the three typefaces the site uses;
• a content delivery network, for the stylesheet cache where one is configured.

Those services receive the reader's IP address and user agent as an unavoidable consequence of an HTTP request, and are governed by their own policies. The site sets no identifier through either. Labelled supporter notices are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from a supporter's server unless the reader clicks the link, at which point the reader is on the supporter's site and subject to its policy.

Editors are pseudonymous. The revision history and contribution records published on the site show a handle, a timestamp, a byte count and an edit summary. They do not show an IP address, a location or any other identifying information, and the site retains no mapping from handle to person that could be disclosed.

Because the site holds no personal data beyond truncated 14-day request logs, there is in practice nothing to export, rectify or erase in response to a data-subject request. A request may still be made through the correspondence address on the copyright page, and will be answered on that basis.

The site is a reference work aimed at a general adult readership. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information about individuals at all.
