A lot is a procedural objectResolved

The observation that a lot is defined by procedure rather than by physics is the key to this whole article. A "lot" assembled by combining runs is a lot by declaration, and readers should know that is possible. LotTraceLuka (talk) 09:45, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

It is also why the useful question is what procedure assigned the number, not whether a number exists. Added to the section. ✓ Done GMP_Gita (talk) 13:20, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

Resolved. This thread is closed. Reopening it is fine if new sources appear; please add a new subsection rather than editing the closed discussion.

Observable consequences framingDone

The third section is careful to say these observations do not prove traceability, only that they are its observable consequences. That distinction keeps the section descriptive rather than prescriptive. DisclosureDido (talk) 10:30, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Agreed, and the closing sentence about records retention adds something genuinely useful without becoming advice. ✓ Done VerifyVesna (talk) 14:05, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Done. This thread is closed. Reopening it is fine if new sources appear; please add a new subsection rather than editing the closed discussion.

Consolidated shipments

The point that lot consolidation is invisible to the recipient deserves more than a sentence — it is the failure mode a buyer is least equipped to detect. FreightFenna (talk) 11:10, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

Agreed in principle. I would rather expand it at Repackaging than here, since that is where the mechanics live. LotTraceLuka (talk) 15:25, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
