The GIP agonist-versus-antagonist problem
The article notes that GIP-receptor antagonists have also produced weight loss. That is the single most awkward fact in this field and I am glad it is stated rather than glossed. Should it be expanded? — GIP_Genoveva (talk) 09:20, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
It is worth a sentence explaining the reconciliation that is usually offered — that sustained agonism produces functional antagonism through desensitisation — but stating it as the answer would overreach. — IncretinIvo (talk) 13:45, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
Agreed. The word "disputed" is carrying the right weight as it stands. — GIP_Genoveva (talk) 08:55, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
Numbered list in the middle sectionResolved
Three competing explanations as a numbered list reads as a ranking. They are not ranked. Suggest either unnumbered or an explicit statement that the order carries no weight. — ManualOfStyleMo (talk) 10:40, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Added a closing sentence saying none has been isolated experimentally, which removes the ranking implication without losing the list structure. ✓ Done — Hedgerow_Hal (talk) 14:12, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Is "twincretin" acceptable in an encyclopedia?Done
The infobox lists "twincretin" as an alternative name. It is journalistic rather than technical. Keep or drop? — GlossaryGleb (talk) 11:30, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Keep. Readers encounter it and need to know it means this. Listing a term is not endorsing it as house style. ✓ Done — DefinedTermDov (talk) 15:05, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
