This page documents a PeptidePedia Wiki working group. It is maintained by the editors who work in this area. Shortcut: PP:CEV.

Coordinating trial articles and evidence-appraisal methodology.

The clinical evidence working group covers the named trial programmes, the individual outcome trials, and the methodological articles that the rest of the wiki relies on to explain what a result means.

Scope

Trial programmes and individual trials; endpoints and estimands; systematic review and meta-analysis; adverse-event reporting in trials. Adverse-effect articles themselves are shared with the clinical practice editors.

House rules for trial articles

  • every efficacy figure is attributed to a named trial and arm;
  • confidence intervals are given where the publication gives them;
  • the estimand is stated where the distinction matters, which for weight-change endpoints is always;
  • post-hoc subgroup analyses are never presented in a lead, and are always labelled post hoc;
  • results announced but not yet published are dated and attributed as announcements.

Current priorities

  1. Add confidence intervals to point estimates currently given alone.
  2. Audit every article lead for post-hoc material.
  3. Write the missing methodological articles that other articles are currently linking to as red links.
  4. Reconcile the weight-change figures quoted across the compound and trial articles, which do not all use the same estimand.
