Overflow capacities in the R-series tableResolved

The overflow capacities are given as "approximately" which is right, but three of them look like they have been rounded from the standard's figures and one — the 8R at 11.5 mL — is suspiciously precise for an approximation. Has anyone checked these against ISO 8362-1 itself rather than against a supplier catalogue? — SigFigSindri (talk) 14:26, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

I checked the diameters and heights against the standard, and those are right. The overflow capacities I took from a supplier's dimensional data, which is why the precision is inconsistent. The standard specifies dimensions and tolerances; brimful capacity follows from geometry rather than being specified directly. — StopperingSteff (talk) 17:11, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

That is worth saying under the table, because it explains why the numbers vary between sources. Capacity is derived, not specified. — SigFigSindri (talk) 09:03, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

Added a note to that effect and made the precision consistent. ✓ DoneStopperingSteff (talk) 10:38, 2 July 2025 (UTC)

Resolved. This thread is closed. Reopening it is fine if new sources appear; please add a new subsection rather than editing the closed discussion.
